I collect a plethora of trays and bowls of this plastic every week from my office as Quiznos & other caterers only use this for some reason. Anyway, I collect them in the basement and give them away on craigslist. Many schools, churches, and other family-owned caterers love these and pick them up regularly. Collect them and give them away - but the best thing to do is write to the company or let them know that you request them to change over to #1 or #2 plastics if they want to see your future business. They have the ability - they just need to see the demand.

I would suggest posting the item on Freecycle.com. There are a number of school groups that are tapped into this resource and there are frequent requests for other like items (baby food jars, etc.) for craft projects.

This doesn't really answer the question, but to solve the problem...consider making your own yogurt? It's really easy, you won't be getting all the chemicals in commercial yogurt, and you won't generate all that plastic to start out with. And unless you're a vegan, switch to butter. It's better for you.
